Frequently Asked Questions

I live in or have recently bought a property within the Southgate boundaries, whom do I contact regaring water or sewer bills?

Southgate does not manage individual billing accounts.

        Water bill contact:
        Denver Water at (303) 893-2444
        http://www.denverwater.org/custserve/custmain.html

        Sewer bill contact:
City of Englewood at (303) 762-2635

I am experiencing low or no water pressure!  Who should I call?

Please call our District offices at (303) 779-0261 to report any interruption in service.

I’m having a sewer backup!  What should I do?

Call a Plumber.  99% of all sewer backups are service line related and not the responsibility of the District.  If a plumber determines the backup is caused by a blockage in the main line – contact our office immediately.

If LARGE quantities of wastewater (more than that produced by the property itself) appear to be backing up into the structure, contact Southgate without delay.

What is the quality of my drinking water? How safe is my drinking water?

The water in our system is provided thru contract with the Denver Water Department. Please see:
http://www.denverwater.org/waterquality/wtrqualitymain.html

A service technician just told me that our water or sewer service line is broken.  Who’s responsible for the repair?

Southgate is responsible for the main lines and the immediate connections to the main line; the service line is the responsibility of the property owner.  The service line does not end at the property line, asphalt edge, or sidewalk but extends to the connection with the main within the street, right-of-way, or easement.
